Alien: The Roleplaying Game

The year is 2183—little more than three years since the destruction of the Hadley’s Hope colony on LV-426, the disappearance of the USS Sulaco, and the closing of the prison and lead works on Fiorina 161. The loss of the Sulaco’s Colonial Marine unit along with these Weyland-Yutani sponsored outposts, and the implications of corporate foul play stemming from these incidents, have created an air of distrust between the company and the United Americas.

To add fuel to the fire, conflicts between the rival sectors of space have increased exponentially in the past five years. While unconfirmed, many believe that Hadley’s Hope was a test site for one of Weyland-Yutani’s bioweapons and that an enemy state sent a warship to nuke it from orbit. Others believe that the Company is working with a rogue nation to assume control of the colonies on the Frontier.

The 2180s are a dangerous time to be alive.

System

The rules of the game are based on the acclaimed Year Zero Engine, used in award-winning games such as Tales from the Loop and Mutant: Year Zero, but adapted and further developed to fully support and enhance the core themes of ALIEN: horror and action in the cold darkness of space. Stay alive if you can.

Cinematic Play

Cinematic play is based on pre-made scenarios that emulate the dramatic arc of an ALIEN film. Designed to be played in a single session, this game mode emphasizes high stakes and fast and brutal play. You are not all expected to survive.

Campaign Play

Campaign play is designed for longer continuous play with the same cast of player characters over many game sessions, letting you explore the ALIEN universe freely, sandbox style.

cyberpunk red

The 4th Corporate War’s over and the big dogs have retreated to their corners to lick their wounds. That leaves everyone else to fend for themselves in a shattered world.

And that’s just fine. ‘cause you’ve got interface plugs in your wrists, metal in your limbs, and chips in your skull. You’re wired in, loaded with chrome, and ready to take it to the Edge.
CPRedJumpstartKitBoxMockup1.jpg

There’s a world full of opportunities out there. Maybe this time you can do more than save yourself. Maybe.

Cyberpunk RED is the latest edition of the classic roleplaying game of the Dark Future, featuring updated mechanics and new lore set in 2045, midway between the events of Cyberpunk 2020 and Cyberpunk 2077.

System

Cyberpunk RED is a simple d10 system: that is, barring a few exceptions, you roll a ten-sided die and add both your relevant stat and skill to just about anything you want to do.

Themes

Cyberpunk RED, by design, features mature themes and violence. Our GMs work to ensure all players' comfort levels with the content of games.

Delta Green

Born of the U.S. government’s 1928 raid on the degenerate coastal town of Innsmouth, Massachusetts, the covert agency known as Delta Green opposes the forces of darkness with honor but without glory. Delta Green agents fight to save humanity from unnatural horrors—often at a shattering personal cost.

In Delta Green: The Role-Playing Game, the players are those agents. They fight to keep terrors from beyond space and time from infecting the world and claiming human lives and sanity. The Handler is the game moderator who creates and interprets their world, presents the unnatural horror that they investigate, and describes the awful aftermath of their sacrifices.

Delta Green is not about stats or weapons or killing the beast. Delta Green is about lying to your players until their Agents realize the truth. That humanity was not the first and will not be the last denizen of this world. That the Earth is haunted, and we are not even the ghosts. We are merely their shadows.

System

Delta Green uses a d100 system similar to Call of Cthulhu. PCs' skills have a percentage value, and checks are rolled on percentile dice, trying to roll under the skill's value.

Themes

Delta Green, by design, features mature themes and violence. Our GMs work to ensure all players' comfort levels with the content of games.

Dungeons & Dragons

The one that started it all.

In Dungeons & Dragons, the players form an adventuring party who explore fantasy worlds together, embark on epic quests, and level up. The Dungeon Master (also known as the DM) is the game's referee and lead storyteller.

The collective creativity in your D&D game builds stories that you’ll tell again and again—ranging from the stuff of legend to absurd incidents that’ll make you laugh.

System

D&D 5th edition/2024 edition uses the d20 system used by many current RPGs (also sometimes known as the "5e system"). Despite the name, the d20 system uses a full set of polyhedral dice, with main skill rolls made using a d20.

The Electric State

A road trip on the verge of reality.

When did it all start? I can’t really remember. It started like any recreational activity, I guess. Like TV. Sometimes they watched TV and sometimes they would sit there wearing their neurocasters. I didn’t care. It was after the big update of 1996 that things got weird. Mode Six.

The Electric State Roleplaying Game is based on the art book The Electric State by acclaimed visual artist and author Simon Stålenhag.

This is a game about a group of travelers heading out on a journey through a strange America in an alternate 1997. The ruins of gigantic battle drones litter the countryside, heaped together with the discarded trash of a high tech consumerist society in decline.

The game is not about the goal but the journey – what the characters experience along the way and how it changes them. This is a game of exploration, of finding out who you are, who your friends are, and what you are willing to do when the world collapses around you.

System

This tabletop RPG uses Free League’s Year Zero Engine, known from award-winning games such as Mutant: Year Zero, Tales From the Loop RPG, ALIEN RPG, and the Blade Runner RPG.

Coming Soon!

The Electric State RPG was recently released, and the How We Roll Gamemasters are learning the system to offer it to interested players.

Versatile settings

Everyone Is John

Welcome to Everyone is John, the curiously unusual roleplaying game where each player struggles with their own unique skill sets and personal obsessions. The catch? Each player is a unique voice in one man's head. Everyone is John is a fast and fun competitive RPG where each player assumes the identity of a "Voice" inside the head of John - a man with no real identity of his own. John's actions, skills, knowledge, and goals change constantly as the voices in his head vie for control of him by using their own finite willpower. Each voice will struggle to achieve their own obsessive goals before all Willpower is gone and the game is over - with only one Voice left as the victor. Everyone is John is a fast, fun game that lets players create their Voices in just a few minutes, and begin play right away. It's the ultimate pickup RPG.

System

Everyone Is John uses a simple d6 to determine success or failure of a check. As a competitive RPG, the GM will occasionally call for tests for the different Voices (players) to take control of John.

Great for One-shots!

The fast, improvisational nature of Everyone Is John makes it perfect for a fun (and funny) one-shot game.
