Growing the Next Generation of RPG Players

How We Roll Junior is designed to introduce kids and young teens to tabletop roleplaying games in a fun, welcoming group of their peers. It’s ideal for players from about 10 through their mid-teens, whether they’re completely new to RPGs or already eager to roll some dice.

The games we choose for How We Roll Junior are selected with age-appropriate content in mind, generally aiming for the equivalent of a PG movie, with some games approaching a soft PG-13. Systems and adventures that we run in our regular How We Roll games but that feature more intense, mature, or adult themes aren't part of the Junior lineup.

We also tailor the experience to the players' ages. While convention games often run four hours and our regular casual games can go longer, How We Roll Junior sessions aim for a sweet spot of around two hours—long enough to tell a good story without asking young players to sit at the table past their attention span. That means some adventures may unfold over multiple sessions, giving players plenty of time to develop their characters and see where the story takes them.

Parents and guardians are always welcome at the table. Stay and help your young player learn the game, jump in when they need a hand, or simply sit back and watch their imaginations run wild. However you choose to participate, we’re happy to have you there.

This is...How We Roll.
