To help ensure the most enjoyable, welcoming, and inclusive gaming experience possible, How We Roll Gaming has adopted a shared set of Standards of Conduct. We ask that all attendees observe these guidelines during our events.

STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

1) Respect Your Fellow Players

Please be mindful of each person’s stated boundaries — including your own. Anyone may speak up at any time (out loud, via private Discord message, by passing a note, using the stoplight system when applicable, etc.) if something crosses a boundary or causes genuine discomfort. If someone raises a concern, we ask that it be respected without debate.

If you’re ever unsure whether something is okay, it’s always perfectly fine to ask first.

  •  Friendly joking and playful banter are part of the fun and absolutely welcome. Genuine hostility or personal conflict, however, should be avoided. If disagreements arise, please handle them calmly and respectfully.

2) Respect Your Host

Whether the gaming space is provided by an individual or a business, we’re grateful for the opportunity to use it. Please help us show that appreciation by treating the space with care and courtesy.

  • Keep clutter to a minimum.
  • Remain within appropriate areas.
  • Leave doors as you found them (open or closed).
  • Close bathroom doors when in use.
  • Observe and follow any location-specific rules set by the host, including policies regarding smoking, firearms, and similar considerations.
  • When playing in a business venue, please follow all of their established rules and standards; these take precedence over How We Roll Gaming’s Standards of Conduct.

We want to ensure we’re always welcome back.

If you need to borrow dice, writing utensils, or other game materials, please feel free to ask — we’re often happy to share. Just be sure to return borrowed items at the end of the game.

Before you leave, please take a moment to clean up after yourself.

3) Group vs. Personal Food & Drink

We understand that most of us enjoy having something to eat or drink during a game. At times, the host, gamemaster, or fellow players may provide snacks or drinks for the group and will clearly let everyone know when something is available to share.

If food or drinks have not been explicitly offered to the group, please assume they are personal items belonging to the person who brought them. You can ask if they’ll share; they can say, “No.”

If you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or other specific needs, please feel free to let the group know in advance so we can be mindful and inclusive where possible. At the same time, while we’ll always do our best to accommodate genuine needs, we may not be able to tailor group food choices to individual preferences.

4) Upholding These Standards

Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels comfortable, respected, and able to enjoy the game. To help maintain that environment, these standards are taken seriously.

If these guidelines are not followed, you may be asked to adjust your behavior. Continued or significant concerns may result in being asked to step away from the table, leave the space, or, if necessary, not continue with the game.

We understand that situations can vary, and we will always aim to handle concerns thoughtfully and respectfully.

Thank you for helping us create a fun, respectful, and welcoming space for everyone at How We Roll Gaming.
